Denver shop recommendations?

I'm going to be in Denver for the weekend and am hoping I might be able to find a shop there a good shoe selection. The shops where I live carry few brands (Sidi are especially rare) and fewer of the popular sizes.

Any suggestions? I can get anywhere in the city, even Boulder if necessary, but I'm staying in the old Stapleton area.

Lots of bike shops in Denver. The Bike Source is a great HUGE shop on County Line Road and University. The Denver Spoke has been around for many many years. Weatridge cyclery is also very large. There's also Bicycle villiage and a Supergo shop. Excel Sports, the one with the catalog that eveyone gets, is in Boulder and the Louisville Cyclery is a nice shop too. There's a ton of shops, just check the phone book.

I'd vote for Wheat Ridge Cyclery, good selection and good service. Bike Source is a huge store, but they don't get points for customer service in my book. They totally turned me off when I was ready to spend the cash. I've heard good things about The Bicycle Pedal'r but haven't been there myself. Treads is another good one, but smaller.

Pedal Pushers on Quebec Street in Denver. Awsome locally owned bike shop. Very qualified knowledgeable staff with amazing mechanics. The owner's name is Jason. Tell him that Jeremy and Jody told you to check his shop out. You will not be disappointed.

I had such a horriable experiance with The Bike Source that every time I see someone in thier Jersey I have a knee jerk reaction of "look at that *******!" (even though I know it has nothing to do with them). Let just say that I'd steer clear of them.

Now The Bicycle Pedal'r on the other hand has been great to me. Smaller shop, friendlier and they don't talk down to you. They are also cheaper then then The Bike Source. Oddly enough they are within a block of The Bike Source. When I asked the manager Adam how they stay in business his response was "Well we get all the pissed of customers from them." :)

What do you think of MOB cyclery on Tennyson? It's not too far from Wheatridge Cyclery.

Do you ride with the Pedalrs? If not, come on out, we have fun.

I'm also surprised they stay in business considering their proximity to the BS shop and their lack of visibility from County Line. That said, I'm glad they DO manage, because I just like them better. Good group of guys.

Now come ride with us!

I do not ride with them . . . yet. I've only been riding for three months, and am not yet totally convinced that I wouldn't get dropped on the group ride. How fast is it? I saw the lengths on the website and those aren't a problem, my daily ride is now up to 20 miles a day with avg speed of 15ish mph. Usually out to Chatfield and back home. Going out to the resivor I can avg 17-19 but coming back kills me. (A fair amount of hills). Anyway I've seriously considered it now that my lvl of fitness has grown, but I'm not afraid to say that I'm still a little scared of group rides after three months of solo. PM with details!

Thumbs up.

MOB is a small operation with great personalized service. Their selection will be limited by their size. Michael Gibson is the owner of MOB. He's a great guy and an avid cyclist/racer. I'm biased as he has been a good friend of mine.

When I make it to the Front Range, I usually shop at Wheat Ridge, MOB, Excel Sports and Vecchios.
