Argh!!! 40 miles with dragging brakes...
Group ride this morning is smaller than usual due to rain. I get a flat 10 minutes in, delaying everyone in the rain.
Once back on, I just couldn't keep up, got dropped, took a shortcut and stayed with the group a little longer. I felt terrible, and it was a little embarassing since I'm fairly new and a girl, and usually keep up just fine. One guy who knows my riding ability kept trying to pull me back to the group, but to no avail.
I was really pissed, and upset, and couldn't figure out why I was having such a terrible ride. Got home, put the bike in the repair stand to dry her off, lo and behold, the brakes are totally outa whack-it had been dragging since I poped the wheel back in after the flat!
I always release the brakes before removing the wheel, and am careful getting it back on, but this has been a perpetual problem, I can't believe I didn't think of it! I'll never forget to check that again!
Anyone else have a similar problem with campy brakes?

The caliper attachment to the fork and/or frame isn't tight enough. Get an allen wrench out, squeeze the brake lever, then tighten the attachment bolt. After it's tight, use a small allen wrench on the centering adjustment bolt to recenter the caliper.

I always have issues with mine. They aren't set for optimal braking(good enough imo) but they never rub and I never have to loosen it when I take the tires off(cheapo tires)

Odd, mine work flawlessly. I suggest you tighten the caliper attachment bolt. It's independent of the brake mechanism. The quick release on the lever should give you more than enough room to remove the tire without messing with the calipers. My pads are set exactly 1mm from the rim and they stay that way.
