the long awaited soloist has arrived

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

the long awaited soloist has arrived

After waiting 3 months, then hearing it would take 6 more months.. I perused the vast expanse of the internet and finally ordered her from pennsylvania (thanks BiKyle)..

Took a couple weeks to get here, then took it down to the LBS for final assembly and fit. Went out for my first real ride today.

Put on a cateye astrale 8 (speaking of which, can anyone tell me how to reset it? I hate doing the math of how far I've gone every time) and Speedplay Zero Chromolys

and yes, there is a tinge of OCP... thats a campy chorus cage that cost me like 70 bucks... it was just so damn pretty.

also, i see that you are also lucky enough to have the Cervelo front fork...its a beauty, and much nicer than the Alpha Q one that is listed on the Cervelo page. I've got the Cervelo fork as well, and i love it.

So good that you finally have your bike!

cheers!!

Is the Soloist a TT bike? Is it comfy enough for distance riding?

*edit* of course, unfortunetly, not by me

i think its plenty comfortable for a road bike, but i havn't ridden any of these carbon uber-frames you can get.

I was considering getting one, but the lead-times made me skittish, and I got the feeling that it wouldn't be comfy enough to ride a century on or something. Am I wrong?

Friggin' gorgeous bike, though. How much did it end up costing you, if you don't mind my asking?
