Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Got my Soviet Jersey, Check out the poseur'ing

Well I came home today and saw a very nice packaged from USPS on the table. I ripped it up and found my jersey It was made in Mexico(argh) but it was really nice and the sickle/hammer are really huge! I got a few wierd looks on the streets but I dont mind. I am going to reserve this as my weekend warrior jersey. Its going to be twice as fun when I pass someone and they see the sickle/hammer

Anyways, I did some poseur'ing around the neighborhood and looked cool at red lights...Im proud of myself!

Can I join the OCP club?

Here they are. Let me know what you guys think, this was taking with a 4megapixel camera that my brother dropped 100 times so the pics might not look so great

Thanks for reading!!!

The early 80's Soviet jerseys made by Castelli looked heaps cooler. The rubber castelli skinsuites were best...kinky.

Cooler again were the East German shirts - grey with the adidas stripes on the arm!

I have to admit, it's kind of a cool looking jersey. However, if I came across him on the road, I would treat it a target to be defeated. I would have no problem dropping him while wearing this.

congratulations..I admire one's tenacity to resist social forces that stops one from being oneself. Knowing me, I would ride with that jersey through Orange county.Just an unsolicited opinion...Might even wear it in front of my friend Igor.

Well, they probably glanced at the jersey... then those furry calves... and wondered why a bear from the Moscow Circus was riding down their street.

i don't think there's anything wrong with wearing a soviet jersey, but you should probably understand that there are some who are going to find it offensive. just because youre wearing it to be kitschy and hip doesnt mean people aren't going to take it seriously.

My snowboard helmet is one of those Giro 'Bad Lieutenant' deals that looks like an old US military helmet and for fun I did it all up a la Full Metal Jacket / Apocalypse Now style with M-16 shells stenciled around the lip, a peace sign and the words CHARLIE DON'T RIDE (a reference to Kilgore's line in Apocalypse Now) scrawled on it. It's got nothing but lulz from Asians and vets alike. The only people who have gotten offended are the same tools that get offended whenever someone says '******' or '******' even though they themselves are neither black nor gay.

It just occurred to me. Do the CCCP jerseys come with free steroids like they did in the 80's?

I'm sure it's the same deal as U.S. jerseys from that time.

U.S. jerseys from that time come with blood transfusions.

Someone has to get Dolph Lundgren to wear one of those jerseys.

I just remember CCCP emblazoned across the Soviet space vehicles.
