Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm sad to report that 'Rad has been taken into custody by the state mental health officials.

He was found, covered in spray paint, muttering "have a tete, don't have a tete, have a tete, don't have a tete" over and over.

You got that right!

Actually, August has been a blur. Work was horrific and then I took off on vacation. While boogie boarding in Kauai, I got rolled over some rocks and whacked my tailbone. X-Rays confirmed it was cracked but fortunately it was localized and didn't get the spine. Unfortunately, there is nothing they can do about it and I continue to be off the bike. I'm hoping to ride Saturday which would make it 3 weeks since my last ride.

Also, I've been spending my time researching another bike. I'm happy to say I've acquired another project. More on that later.

Also - 53-11 took off for the body building forums. He may be lurking here but his last PM with me about a month ago was to say goodbye.

Hip, I'm still around.

Been CRAZY busy at work, with a ton of travel, and my little baby girl just turned 8 weeks old and requires a lot of my time (reasonably so). I am extremely sleep deprived and am up to my ears in urgent tasks that aren't getting done.

I still skim the posts but haven't had much chance to contribute.

By the way, I'm not complaining. The busy work stuff has been good stuff and the baby is terrific.

Rad, sorry to hear about your injury! Heal fast!

when sincity suddenly starts spewing bucket loads of quotes from bike technology and fitting sites, he will have suffuciently filled the gap that 53-11 has left in his wake. until then, however...there can be only one.

Yeah.....53-11 knew his stuff.

Seems to be a busy time of the year for a lot of us. I just recently started grad school, so that's where I've been.

I look forward to living vicariously through Rad's new project. He should get Patriot to paint it. It would be the ultimate BF bike.

I would say the vibe around here has pushed people away. Lately, it seems everybody wants to stand opposed to something, be it cycling related or (more often than not) political. Somebody posts something harmless, and suddenly he has everybody jumping his case because his jersey is communist propoganda, or his saddle is too far forward, or ...

Everybody needs to chill.

I'm sorry, but I really don't think having your saddle too far forward is acceptable.

he was the king creator of basically useless threads, and he posted incessantly. this was, of course, until he miraculously transformed himself into a bike tech superjunkie and became useful(the opposite of me). i think he was shooting EPO.
