I am sorry I have to drop you because you look like Lance

Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

What do you expect? He's a Doctor Jim, not a bicycle mechanic.

I aways picture these, "..I blew the guy away..."posters as the comic book guy on the Simpsons. Cheeseburgers and lonliness, are a dangerous mix.

However, Lance is guilty of one big cycling fashion fauxpas: the tall socks. Dorky.

https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycling/131662-i-dropped-national-champion-germany-today-d.html

I dropped the National Champion of Germany today, Andreas Kloen. For all the pro jersey you can wear, this dude in Central Park has to wear the National Champion jersey of Germany struggling to climb the Cat Paw hill. He seemed to be struggling--climbed seated and standing. I just powered up the Cat Paw hill at 500w without breaking a sweat. At a distance I didn't believe what I was seeing but as I was getting closer, I was in a state of disbelief. I just have too much respect for Germany.
"Lance" should consider himself lucky. R600 was dialled at 500W the week before.

Whatever you do, avoid the temptation to dial it up to 1,210,000,000 watts. Otherwise, that ride you do next week's going to put you back right where you are today.

your Cervelo is a 05 they arent going to put it on their bikes till 06

furthermore why do people think they are the greatest riders and can beat anyone? i never really encounter other roadies so i really dont know how i would stack up against another roadie. i see guys on older bikes and always pass them but i have never ran into a new roadbike. i like my molteni hat and socks though so if anyone wants to race me cause i am eddy just lock it in and im ready.

It was a bit nippy last week and I was layering up with my polka, yellow, green and world champ jerseys. Next thing I know this crazy guy on a cannondale buzzes past me, must have been doing 1000 watts plus!!! Then he looks back and gives me this "follow me home" look. Kinda weirded me out. Needless to say, I dropped back and took the next turn off the road.

Wait, wait, wait... do we even know that this is a Cannondale that he is riding?

What if he's riding a GSX-R600? No wonder why it was so easy for you to drop Lance and Andreas!

I don't teach lessons by dropping people.
I teach lessons by chucking bag of dog waste at their $3000 bikes.

I caught up to him near the foot of a .25 mile 5% climb. As I rode ahead of him and noticed the color of his helmet straps and I was determined to teach him a lesson. We both approached to the foot of the climb and I was determined not to change gear. I have my power output set to 400w. roughly 19 mph. I glanced back at him and to initiate the challenge. He took the bait. He was slowly closing in to my wheel. I stood up and dropped down to my 13th gear and just blasted it up at 19 mph. Unless he has been racing, there is no way he could match my speed.

Go away silly man.

Actually, they had a power dial on the 05s, but removed it to save weight.

Maybe he has one of these, and was referring to the 400w on it...

I think that by definition, you cannot "drop" somebody unless they are making an effort to hang with you. If they are not trying to hang with you, you are merely "passing" them. I pass kids on trikes, teens on BMX's, old ladies on cruisers and the occasional roadie on my route, but you don't see me bragging about it.

No you are the one that sounds like a Lance want to be. So what if he was decked out in Trek gear. So now your more of a man because you pasted him. Get a life you must be like 18. I really don't think people here care if you drop a dude on a bike wearing Lance gear. Man some of these threads should be banned for stuidity.
