Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No reason. I just want to check out sites of your lbs. Perhaps it could be use to people reading the thread who live in your area.

I got two. The first one is a 10 minute drive from my house and has all the essentials plus a great, really nice owner, but it's really small. Good repairmen too. The second one is a huge store just about every cyclist in MA has been to. Tons of stuff, but it tends to be a bit expensive. Nice people too. But it's a 40 minute drive from my house 4 cities away.

Bike Pedlar

Great shop, mainly carries Giants but they have a good selection of very high end bikes, Litespeed, Colnago, Kestrel as well as other.

What impressed me the most was David the mechanic who built my bike for me stayed 3 hours after closing on a friday night to finish my build (which I had been waiting on parts for 2 weeks) because he thought I'd like to have my bike for Labor Day weekend. Then he called me at 9:30pm (shop closes at 6pm) to tell me that my bike was ready. I was very impressed!

https://www.rebecandkroes.com is where I got my Cannondale from.
https://www.thecyclery.ca is where I go for pretty much everything except the free tune-ups that came with my bike purchase. This is mainly because it's closer to my home and university, and I just get a better vibe from them. Not that the first one is bad, it's just that I prefer the atmosphere of the Cyclery.

Fourth generation family owned, total hipster shop that can service anything. Some really goofy expensive bikes (Cervelo, Look). The best part is the neighborhood to walk around while they are working on the bike.

I do most of my shopping here: https://www.thebicycleshopinc.com/
Not nearly as much but some here: https://www.mtnittanywheelworks.com/
Got my fitting here: https://www.becycles.com/
This is 3 of the 5 shops in town. The other I have spent money in in the last year doesn't have a web site...or any stock of bikes...but if you know what you want and they are a dealer (Marin, Fuji, Bianchi) you can get a smoking deal on it. The 5th shop in town really survives because it is the only real hockey equipment shop in town and PSU has a decent hockey team so....

Excellent bike shops in the Triangle area of NC (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill-Carrboro):
Here's a link to my LBS (part of a locally-owned chain): https://thebicyclechain.com/site/index.cfm
Also, another excellent chain of shops in Raleigh/Cary: https://allstarbikeshop.com/site/intro.cfm

Performance, Inc. is headquartered in Chapel Hill, but I refuse to shop at their retail store anymore.
With all the great shops in the area, it seems Performance hires all the cretins no one else wants.

After visiting and purchasing from several in my area I will not name, I wholeheartedly endorse Pleasant Hill Cyclery:

https://www.pleasanthillcyclery.com

Not where I purchased my bike from, and not necessarily where I'll purchase parts/accessories/tools/etc. from either (typical small LBS selection/options), but for service, maintenance and the products they do carry, they're my first choice.

Southern California -- Inland Empires best bike shop

https://incycle.com/

The best bike shop I have been to in a long time.
They always have what I need and the service department has never let me down. They go the extra mile no matter who you are.

https://www.gravitywarehouse.com - is the LBS about a 1/4mi from my house. They deal mostly in mountain bikes and BMX bikes, but I go here for a lot for the small stuff.

https://www.newhorizonsbikes.com - for when the LBS close to my house doesn't have what I'm looking for. They're located in Westfield, MA, one town over.

Don't run red lights, wear a helmet, use hand signals, get some cycle lights(front and rear) and, FFS, don't run red lights!

They are at 1028 Arch St. in Philly. It is a chain store but the guys at this shop are top-notch.

This is mine: All American Bicycles

A very tacky name, but a very nice shop. I guess when you live in redneckville, it helps to have a name like that for your shop.
