Where to buy Wheelparts

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Where to buy Wheelparts

Where do you wheelbuilders buy your wheelparts online? I'm looking for a retailer with a decent selection of spokes and nipples at good prices. A store with good customer service is a plus, too.

Thanks for the link. Would these guys be good at making recommendations if I were to contact them and describe to them my weight, what type of riding I do, etc.?

Yeah, that's Mike Garcia. Go check my thread on finally receiving the wheels he built for me. I'm very impressed with his service and his product.

By sure to call them because their email responses are generally slow as they are usually very busy and the operation consists of just Mike and his wife Alex. 866-292-0124

Thanks, all. Any other retailers that might carry more spoke options? I'm specifically looking for parts to build up some disc brake wheels for XC.

Hey, nice looking wheels. I checked out your wife's photography site, too. She really does some nice work. Is that your Bernese Mountain Dog in the Labor Day pics?

I like www.branfordbike.com. They always have whatever I need, and their prices are decent and shipping is not outrageous like other places.

Don't know about service/recommendations, as I have never contacted them for that sort of thing, but their website has TONS of info on the products they sell and what is available. Look under "S" in the catalog index for "Spokes".

They do seem focused on road bikes, though.
