Would anyone out there have a Easton EC90 Fork and 1" steer tube combo, be able to comment on how the fit is around the headset and crown?
I ask for the fork seems to have a really squared off shoulder much like an Integrated fork even on the non integrated models. I fear this may look more cut off around the headset crown area with a 1" headset, and less fitted or clean looking as a fully sloped crown like the Reynolds Ouzo.
If you could, please post some close up photos of the area as that would really help me to determine if this is the fork for me.
Thanks

No, but I have an old nude Kestrel EMS fork (nude) with a 1" threadless steerer.

I haven't done it myself, however from what I read, it's fairly straight forward.

i had the 1" ec90 aero non integrated and it lined up nicely with a cane creek cartridge bearing headset (which, admittedly, has slightly larger cups than a caged bearing headset). i got rid of the setup because of the flex of the 1" carbon steer tube. i was running with a 5mm spacer and a -17 120mm stem and the flex was quite noticeable.

Funny, but I just ordered a 1-inch EC90 SL today, with a Chris King headset. Gimme a few days, and I'll post a photo.

I actually had a 1" 2005 Easton EC90 carbon fork. It's sitting in my car with cracked dropouts after a garage/bike rack accident .... Anyway, install of the fork crown race and spacers, and stem was a major pain. The steer tube was so tight that we had to rig all kinds of ways to get everything on without scratching the components (especially the Pewter King spacers). Perhaps it was a manufacturing anomaly, and once it worked it was fine, but if you had to remove everything for whatever reason, the mallet was a very useful tool.

What were your thoughts on how the squared crowns matched up to the headset?

Check out my own build at https://bordercitywheezers.com/GALLERY_3.htm
I went through the same doubt as to whether the fork crown would look out of place. the eastom pics make it look squared off more than it actually is. As you will see in the pics on my website, the fit is perfect.
Easton EC90SL Fork (Straight) 1" steerer.
Chris King Nothreadset (Sotto Voce) 1"
Hope this helps y'all!

Isn't that a lot of spacers under the stem considering that the steer tube is carbon and 1"?

Probably (easton reckon 30mm max (27.5mm at the moment)) though i intend cutting it down further when it's fully built up and i can check out how it all feels. Naturally i left it long coz it's easier to cut off than put back on...

I have an EC90 fork with a 1" steerer, and I have not been happy with it. I will probably replace it with a different model by the end of the year.

a little off topic (i don't have enough privalages to start a thread) but with regards to my own build... I have installed Chris King Bottom Bracket on my project bike, with a view to installing Shimano chainset. However, i have since decided to "take the leap" and install SRAM red groupo. I would like to keep the Chris King BB but know that it is not compatable with SRAM (it will have to go though depending on the following questions). Hope do a GXP converter for their BB's (basically a couple of shim/washer type thingies) and my question is with regards this. Will the converter fit the Chris King BB and has anybody else here done this conversion?
