Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Step two

Ok so I picked up the Pinarello I was oggling and now I'm working on pimping it out. I'm sticking with all italian (pretty much) on this one. So whaddaya think for? New school? Old school? Can i Mix and match successfully? So far I'm in between. I've got Record cranks from 02 or 03? New Campy Vento wheels, a record 9 speed cassette from a while back year unknown, and a campy headset from the 90's some time. I think the shifters are record as well from '92 but my real crown jewels are the brake levers. 50th anniversary records. They're hott. Any suggestions for the rest of the parts?

Old school, for sure! I'd go all silver finish components,(stem, seatpost, cranks, der.'s, brakes, etc.) Those wheels are WAY too modern looking, try to trade them for some classic 32 spokers (silver hubs, spokes, rims.) CAMPY IT UP!

I dunno man, I'm kind of a fan of the old/new mix. Or is that taboo in the oh so fashion conscious roadie world.
