How Much Is This Bike Worth?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well I am sure you know the stock bike costs $2399 or something like that. I have seen them for sale recently for $1899 Looks like there are some upgrades on there though but you wont get you money back out of those. I would sell one set of wheels seperatly, no doubt the Mavics as the Ventos don't go for much even brand new on eBay. I would think the most you are going to get for the bike with one set of wheels would be like $1600. I would pull the computer off of it because it wont get you any more money in the sale of the bike and you could sell it as well off the bike. If you have the original parts that all that FSA stuff replaced I would also put that back on and sell the FSA stuff pc by pc. Bike will sell for less but in the end you should be able to make more.

So what size is it? I have actually been looking at these bikes.

Bikes are like cars - they lose a big chunk of value the minute they walk out the door.

The general formula I use when trying to assess value for a bike that is less than 3 years old and in prime mint condition it 50-60% of original MSRP. If you paid MSRP (who does?) then this will seem low to you. If you got it on sale, then the difference is smaller.

Different brands and components can alter this quite a bit.
