So how's everyone liking the 8 bends?? I obviously(read below) haven't had a chance to try them on the road yet, but they feel pretty light, and i haven't really been able to bend or twist the bars using my arms or legs to try and leverage them.
Took 2 extra days but i got my bars, (grrrr nashbar for not shipping fedex). Coincidentally my new light for my bike only fit's 26 bars so i guess that works out good, and my aero bars are designed for 26, so i can put away the adapters now. Funny story, i went to the LBS to buy a new stem for the bars since i don't have a 26 clamp stem, told one of the guys there that i picked up these bars to try them out, as soon as i said "mondolo" he said "oh they're crap, you should buy these carbon bars(he pointed to a display case), way stiffer and much lighter". I just smiled and said "are they 10$ too?" Well that shut him up pretty good, and it turned out they didn't have my size stem, he then went on to say "looks like nobody makes 110mm that we can order in" i just rolled my eyes. For the record, i had seen many " 90, 100, 110, 120" check box's on the tag for some of the stems i was looking thru in the bin. Oh well, i just made sure to ask for a 26 clamp on my new bike, problem solved :) |
Mine arrived a few days ago but not on a bike yet. Look like they should be fine. Bought mine b/c they're a good deal and with my last few projects I've been finding decent bars harder anad harder to get for decent money.

These bars are very comfortable.

Those bars with the cut angles are based on the classic "Cinelli 65 Criterium" handle bar. The idea was the more rounded corners allowed a person to sprint in the drops aggressively with out banging your wrists and arms..
I had a set on my Klein Q-Pro and loved the feel and look of them. http://www.bikepro.com/products/hand...i_crit_bar.jpg Modolo makes avery nice and stiff bar. I had a Speedy Anatomic before and it was stiff for a ~300g bar. |
Mine arrived a couple weeks ago in perfect shape with a tag stating they were made in 1993. Not sure what I will do with them and have no plans at the moment.
This is how I get a great many extra parts - comes in handy when a "must-have" frame goes by. 55/Rad |
Looking forward to mounting mine on my synapse :)
I think everyone's bars a 93 stock, either that or they're shipping from a time portal. Oh ya, i think the bars went up to 19$ now, so i feel even better about buying them. |
