Velomax Vista SL/Easton

Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with these wheels? I am looking for a value for money light-ish option for everyday training. Thank you!!

I have the Vista SL's and they've been great so far after 800 miles or so. I got them new for around $210 on ebay...

+1 except my Vista's came factory on my bike. I have 1000 miles on them and they have been rock solid.

My Cervelo tri bike came with them. They seem fine to me even though the specs have them as being a little heavy. I have Ksyrium Elites on my road bike. They seem about the same.

:roflmao: Hey man it is Grasschopper not Grasshopper. :p

And no that wasn't me...plus you have to give me credit I have had a lot of restraint lately on this topic. I still think hand built is a better value than just about any botique wheel.

i've put a 1000 miles on a pair of vista sls and they have been trouble free. They have a 30 mm rim depth which seems to have some aero effect (perhaps only in my head). They roll really smoothly (perhaps just because all new hubs do). In general.... I like how they feel.

Velomax builds some solid wheels. They work great for training I've found. Very low maintenance.

Thanks all for input. I'm not too worried about weight as my current MA3s are heavyweights in comparison.

My Burley has Velomax Vistas on them. They're rockin' wheels--seem to be putting up with Kansas City streets and Michelleish abuse. My only gripe is that innertubes them with the super-long valve stems are too expensive, so I am using the cheaper tubes with a valve-stem extender.

That, and you really should peel the decals off them when you get 'em. Those decals put the butt into butt-ugly.

They're surprisingly easy to change a tire on. I've had both the original Vittorio Rubino tires on, then I had to replace the back tire due to an inhospitable bit of construciton debris slashing a hole in the original tire, and I put on a Torelli of some description (same size 700x23) with no problem whatsoever. With the deeply flanged rim, I thought it would be hard to coax a new tire on, but it slid right on like it wanted to be there.

I bought a set of Velomax Vistas from a guy who took them off of his Cervelo P2. They are so rock solid it's not even funny. I'm thinking about selling my Ksyrium SLs and getting either Easton/Velomax's Tempest II or Orion IIs, that's how impressed I am.

+2 No problems with mine at all. My Vistas were OEM and I was going to upgrade then till I figured there was not much point in it.
