Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ivan Basso's Legs

Has anyone noticed that Ivan Basso's legs look kinda small and undefined? I was looking through his websites pictures and noticed his legs look awful small, but hes still awesome on the bike.

No disrespect mate, but difination isnt the bee all and end all.

you got aerobic strength, LT threshold, technique, your bodys own ability to process lacate as energy source, core strength etc etc.

so dont get cought up with defined is best. its about being as efficient as possable. plus different ride style's effect you look, sprinters are generally biger more defined than hillclimbers.

theres more than 1 way to skin the rabbit.

And before any-one mentions Ulrich, theres always exceptions to the rules.

Look at an elite marathoner; twig legs! But they can run like the wind for hours. Sprinting requires big legs; enduro's not so much.

As a five year old he cut his teeth racing in the “Student" Category. It was only a few years later that he asked his parents to drive him to the base of the Stelvio (pictured below), the famous climb on which many a Giro d’Italia have been decided so he could ride it. He did not disappoint, hours later cresting the 2757 meter summit’s 25 kilometer, 8% grade with a look of satisfaction.

What were we doing when we were 10 years old?

I know I wasn't climbing the Stelvio.

Do you by any chance carry around a pic/copy of his contract? (The one Bruyneel is still trying to prepare/spellcheck)

Who cares about Basso's legs? I mean he's the prettiest pro cyclist out there these days. Wife says he's not her type though. Jan's her type of guy.

Forget pictures of Ivan Basso's legs. Go to the "Leg Pic Thread" if you wan to look at guys legs.
Now, Ivan Basso's little sister Elisa Basso is a hottie! How 'bout some pictures of her?
