My Dream Bike, Finally!!

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Well, I finally made the plunge and bought my dream bike. Its a Look 585 53cm gloss black, all Dura Ace 20 speed group except the FSA K-Force/Mega EXO carbon crank. Its fitted out with FSA K-Force carbon stem and bars, Easton EC-90 carbon post, Look Keo carbon/Ti pedals and Easton Ascent II wheels, Michelin ProRace2 tires, Sam Marco Ti rail saddle. This thing flies, and I am in velo-heaven.

Posted some new better (I hope) pics.

Thanks for looking.
Dave

YUMMY!!!

That machine has OCP written all over it.

I am surprised you didn't go for some Zero Gravity brakes too, especially since you flipped the bill for the Ti Keo's.

That is so shweet!!!

You'd best tie that thing down with some line and concrete blocks so it doesn't float up and hit your ceiling. What does the rig weigh? Like 1 1/2 lbs?

(Very nice buggy! Enjoy it and report back!)

Oh, that's so sweet. I gasped at how nice that bike was in a local bike shop. They offered me a test ride, but I couldn't. I felt unworthy. I'm still thinking that maybe down the line...

Truly, I've never liked a bike so much as the 585 on just looking at it.

I think you have a masterpiece.

Thanks everybody, and I have uploaded some better detail pics in the opening thread. Puddin Legs, this bike really is very light, and I believe it is right around 14.5 lbs the way it is rigged right now. It is 990 grams for the frame, and the all carbon fork (no metal parts in it at all) is 295 grams. Gangrel, the cages are Elite Pase carbon (29 grams each). I could have made the bike little lighter, I suppose, by going with a lighter wheelset, but I love the looks and durability of the Easton/Velomax Ascent IIs. The beautiful thing about this bike is that it is very light, it is really stiff, it is a great sprinter and climber, but is SUPER comfortable to ride.

Now that's a nice bike....I just went to Competitive Cyclist and totaled up how much one of those puppies would cost with what I wanted on it....$6,122.

Time to go buy some lottery tickets.

That thing is awesome!

Now, go take a photography class cuz those pictures don't do it justice. Here's a 3 word tip - better light source.
