Is there one that cleans-up better than another?
Maybe a little cushion too.

Unique Vintage Steel
I use the Nashbar Deluxe Handlebar Tape. It's cheap enough that I just replace it when it starts getting to looking too ratty and dirty. Good cushioning too.

I don’t know much about tape, but I figured something that was nonporous would be easier to keep clean - since it wouldn’t absorb the dirt.

Whatever you do DONT buy Bontrager tape...
Worse. Tape. Period.
It unravels on me everytime I ride.

That said, I personally stopped using white bar tape about 20 years ago.

I've recently become a fan of white Deda tape. It's foam, not cork. Comes clean and looks pretty good after a few minutes with a kitchen scouring pad and some dish soap.
I've used the same roll of tape for three or four wrap jobs now while switching out between FSA anatomic, Deda shallows and finally settling on a pair of Ritchey WCS classics.

Gel insert wont work...bennottos are cellophane type tape with out adhesives backing if you dont warp it tight against the bar it will just unravil apart. but the gel insert are a good idea.

I have white Deda wrap as well. It is pretty washable, plush and comfy. BUT the damn finishing tape they give you is junk. It's 2 little plastic strips about 5 inches long that is so shiny that it doesn't stick to itself. I use electical tape to finish first but I want a nice 'branded-logo' finishing tape that actually stays on after the electrical tape! Their finishing tape also does not allow an angled taper off from the wrap....it just crinkles up on the edges because it's plastic. Cinelli is the same.
Anyone heard of good finishing tape? The only thing I've found that's good is Yonex tennis racket tape.
