How long to break in a saddle?

At what point did you know the saddle you have is a good one? I'm toying with a new saddle which at this point is not yet as comfy as my last one. About when did you know you were happy with your current one?
How long do I need to give it before giving up? (assuming this is not a Brooks that needs some significant break-in time)

Is it leather? I don't think saddles that aren't leather really "break in" do they? I could be wrong. I ride a B-17.

I already have a B-17 as well. I'm trying out the E3 Form saddle (see my other thread) and just wondering how many times I should ride it to determine if I keep it or return to the Brooks.

you'll probably get quite a few people saying synthetic saddles don't break in, they break YOU in. It honestly took 1-2 months till i was completely comfortable on my arione, even now it's more of a "fast" saddle, then an "everything saddle" by the end of a 100k relax paced, or recovery ride, my butt was happy to be back in mr computer chair, or mr couch. Yet on a fast ride, it's great comfortable, supportive, even if i throw on the aero bars that slightly longer design comes in handy, or... butt-y.. lol
