Which pro are you most like?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Which pro are you most like?

On this page:

https://www.letour.fr/2005/TDF/LIVE/u.../coureurs.html

Is a list of the date of birth, height and weight of all the pros that rode in the tdf this year (well, some are missing info, but most are here).

Going through all the riders, which are you closest to on D.O.B, height and weight?

I'm 16/05/74, 185cm and 67 kilos. My closest pro is....

42 - AERTS Mario (BEL)
Born in 31/12/1974 à Herentals (BEL)
Height : 1.8 m
Weight : 67 kg

Aerts rides for Davitamom-Lotto, and won Grand Prix d'Ijsbergues in '96, Circuit Franco-Belge in '97, Tour de la Province de Lucca in 2001 and La Flèche Wallonne in 2002.

Magnus Backstedt...90.7kg and 1.9m...Paris-Roubaix...

Birthday...Armstrong...his is a week before mine.

Too many to do a search.

I still find it interesting that Rous wore 141 for Bouygues Telekom rather than Voeckler.

Same birthday. August 19th
He 5'9 156 lbs
Me 5'9 150 lbs

I'm gonna go buy a Euskatel kit and Orbea now...

I'm 13/04/70, 1.91m and 87 kilos. My closest pro is:

(4) HINCAPIE George (USA)
Born in 29/06/1973 à New York (USA)
Height : 1.91 m
Weight : 83 kg

Hincapie is, of course, a Discovery Channel Team rider and his highlights on the TDF site include:

1998 - Championnat des Etats-Unis
1999 - GP d’Atlanta
2001 - Gand-Wevelgem
2004 - Trois Jours de la Panne
2005 - Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne

Lance Armstrong:

His birthday is nine days before mine.
We are almost identical in height/weight.
We both come from states that begin with the letter T.

and that pretty much ends the comparisons right there

Hmm.....Leon Van Bon is older, taller, and heavier, but we both have a birthday on Jan 28.

Who's about 5'7", 140, and 22 years old?

    Me:
    June 24, 1979
    1.72 m
    64 kg
wears Discovery jersey (paid for it)

    Popovych:
    Jan 4, 1980
    1.75 m
    64 kg
wears Discovery jersey (paid for it)

Of course, the similarity ends there, and even the "paid for it" means completely different things for the two of us.

Any rider who is good not great in a sprint, punches a big hole in the wind on the flats, and is something awful uphill.
