Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The first pic is my road bike. I like the fact that I can't see any cables while I'm riding. It usually has a computer and a light.

The second pic is a tandem. It's kind of busy but everything is near at hand. The cross brakes are nice to have. The thumb shifters are semi-indexed.

I'm wondering how long it will be before someone starts posting these type of photos on a regular basis. e.g., hidden cam on the handle bars. Could make for a very popular website...

My computer and HR numbers post Saturday's Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge (average speed includes riding back to my hotel afterwards.) 160km in 4:45, burning 5638 calories.

Okay..I know I am way late, but here is my LeMond. The computer is a Trek Incite 9i. It does its job but I am looking at something wirelss with cadence. I'll try some moving shots as soon as I can remember how to ride with no hands

Here's the '62 Vette in action (red shorts.) Built in Swanson (West Auckland) 1962 by Denys and June Vette, flesh tone, mostly original parts, bears a few dings from crashes, runs (well cycles) as good as new

Sorry to disappoint, but not built in Detroit, and down a few horsepower on the V8 powered variety. I'd quite like one to go with the name though!

Here's mine. The first is how I ride if I'm going someplace of great distance I haven't been before. The second is how I ride group rides - those mystical things that happen once every three months. Everything in between would be sans the GPSr.

Here's my winter commuter dashboard --
The black blanket-thingies around the handlebars are pogies (aka bullwinkles)
to keep your hands warm. Cateye Astrale8 cadence computer, one of two headlights
visible on the front fork, AirZounds horn.

(Not exactly a road bike, but it's what I ride on the road.)

The weight of that TV monitor on the handle bars must affect the steering?
