My eBay steal of the day-Fizik Aliante for 1$

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

WHo would put a "Buy it Now" for $1.00 for that seat?

I see you closed that auction just yesterday. Not to be skeptical, but it will be be interesting to see of the person actually delivers it!

Yeah, I got an email from him saying that 1.00 should have been the opening bid, not the BIN.
So I guess the question becomes to be a jerk about it or not?

By ebay rules his loss your gain.
Also depends on if you think youll ever want to buy from the guy again. If so you might want to say no harm no foul.

I believe in karma, so I'd probably offer him $20 (or whatever you would have considered a great deal if it was auctioned as intended) as a good faith offer, and then if he says no, then the rules are on your side.

Doid23 has a good solution.

The guy will probably be willing to work a pretty good deal so as not to get negative feedback. Why don't you work on negotiating a price with him that works for both of you. Chances are, you still will get a very good deal. Those are great seats...I have one. I also have Ariones as well. I think the Aliante is the most comfortable of the two.

I'm a huge jerk, just ask my wife. But I think i would let him off the hook. You couldn't have realistically thought he intended to sell a $200 saddle for $1. I spent a week bidding on Aliantes before I got a brand new one for a steal at $85. Give him $50 or let him resell it.
