Finally a bike pic for you.

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Finally a bike pic for you.

It's been a while since I have shown an updated picture of my bike. I received this bike as a gift and have made a few adjustments to it. Mainly changing the triple out for a double.

She's not the best, but she's all mine.

Thanks for the bike pron to start the day. BTW, you need to get the wife to redecorate, your window treatment does nothing for your bike.

Shouldn't bike pron be much bigger ... one of the pics I took on my Sunday ride. (resized to 50% of actual)

Nice C'dale. Was it hard/expensive to change the triple for the double? I was close to getting a triple on this bike when the doubles came back in stock. I'm glad I got the double and haven't had any issues with steep hills so far this season. Not that it's particularly mountainous in Maryland.

Nice CFR, and the Angus cows pick up the black on your frame nicely.

My friend is an LBS owner. He had a double available from another bike so he changed them out for me. I just paid him for the labor.

He's a nice guy.

And thank you for the comments on the bike.

I have a load of high end bikes but my favorite is the Basso steel bike. That's also the cheapest one of the bunch.

The frame on your Cannondale R-400 is a good one and in case you wear anything out (a dubious prediction save for chains, sprockets and tires) you can put higher end components on it.

But to tell you the truth, I have some of my 105 stuff from the early 90's which still works like new. I just put the brake levers on my latest Look beater bike.

For some reason I find that I enjoy my cheaper bikes more than the more expensive ones.

How ironic....

A bike called Scattante, in a field full of cowsh*t.

Just kidding. Scats are actually great bang for your buck machines. Almost picked one up myself.

One of these days we're going to have to ride together. I'm riding my way across Maryland to your neck of the woods with each long ride. I was thinking of riding Sugarloaf and surrounding areas until I saw that it would be ~56 miles each way. I'm not quite ready for that long a ride. I'll have to drive over and ride it and drive back. Weather and time are getting short but definitely in the spring!

Anyone else notice that cows stare at you when you ride by? they don't care about cars, but bikes are fascinating to them.

Ouch, I guess I won't even ask about joining the OCP club then since you don't like my bike. I'm trying with the light carbon bike, carbon water bottle cages, matching shoes, jersies/bibs when riding, etc. I'm just trying to work my new hobby within my limited budget and budget directors supervision. Believe me, if I could afford it I'd be riding a Pinarello Dogma or Scott CR-1 with Lightweight wheels and full Campy Record.

I ride by cows, horses, sheep, a boatload of prairie dogs and several packs of stray dogs here and I tend to get some kind of reaction from each one. They don't so much as blink when a car goes by.

There was one (not in this pic) that kept watching me. He seemed pretty interested in my bike or outfit... I kept a close eye on him to. I kept thinking he was going to make a run at the fence or something. I didn't even have a red windstopper....LOL. Eventually, he just went back to his pasture grazing and I enjoyed my 5 min. break and fruit bar.

You have to have the picture online somewhere hosted which allows linking. I have personal albums on Fototime as well as Comcast gives me storage space. After you uplink the pic to one of those places then you type {IMG}www.yourphotolink.here{/IMG} and replace the curly brackets with straight brackets. Walla... nice quality pics instead of tiny little thumbnails or smallish low quality attachments. I reduced this one quite a bit from the 5.1MP image it started out as so it would fit on most monitors.

Thanks for the info. Does having the pics hosted somewhere mean like a personal web site with the pics there? And one other thing, how big is the pic above and is there an optimal size? Sorry for all the questions, inquiring minds want to know.

Yes, its a personal web site space on Comcast. I always prefer huge pics but most people run their monitors around 1024x768 give or take step so I think I resized for that. They came out of the camera at 2592x1944 which is even to big for my monitor.
