8 speed Sora to 9 or 10 speed?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

8 speed Sora to 9 or 10 speed?

What componets you have to change out from an 8 speed sora on a Trek 1000 to a 9 speed 105 or a 10 speed 105?

To 9 speed... chain, cassette, shifters and you might have some issues with your cranks and rear D, but probably not. For 10, the same stuff and probably rear D and cranks. Start with the bare minimum (chain, cassette, shifters, even just the right one) and see how it works. If things skip, don't shift, or make a lot of noise then try cranks and rear D.

Hopefully, the hub is shimmed for the 8 speed, so putting on a 9 speed cassette will be easy. The Sora rear derailleur is 8 speed, so that will also have to be changed.
