Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

hello, every one! i am new to here!

after seeing the scale of this forum, i must have to say: this is incredible! i cant believe there is such a "big" cycling forum exsiting on internet.

here are some details about myself:
Basically, I just am a 17 years old guy who decided to stop driving cages and step into a healthier life.
I started driving to attend school about 1 year ago, (although my house is only about approx 4.5k away from the school) due to the fact that my area is surrounded by 4 motorway entrances, i finally said to myself: driving sux. (average statistics between 8:00am-8:40am: takes 30-45m by car, 25-30min by walking/jogging, and about less than 15min by cycling!)

So now i ride a hybrid bike with 700*28C tyres to almost anywhere, at anytime, under any weather condition.

happy to join this forum!

once again: HELLO EVERYONE!

welcome. If you don't have an after school job, I suggest you get one because you will soon be spending a lot of money on bikes and bike related paraphernalia. Fear not, it is fun

Welcome! (Since you're just 17, that will have to be rootbeer.)

edit: Since I wrote "just 17" without even thinking about it... I now feel officially old. Fear not, I will stay immature!

Welcome. 17 years old eh? Well, think about this; At your age you can acomplish anything. Oh God this is making me feel so freakin old. Anyway, if I was your age I would immediately rent a room in France and start training for the TDF. :-)
