tcr composite question

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

tcr composite question

I've found a pretty sweet deal on an '04 tcr composite 2. It's a little outdated but has never left the lbs. I just want to know what changes were made between the '04 and '05 models. I hear the '05 is pretty stiff, does the same go for the '04.

If you own one let me know what you think of it.

i have an '04 tcr1 nice frame, climbs great, descents are squirly. nothing wrong with the components on the tcr2, its 9 speed instead of 10 and the wheelset is anything but stellar but if you are getting a swinging deal on it then i would pull the trigger

hi! i just purchased an '05 tcr c1 which has the same frame as the c2 - only difference is components. i would suggest you look @ the giant website www.giantbicycles.com to see how the models changed between '04 & '05. look under usa -> competition -> "current models" or "'04 archive" -> tcr -> then the model. usually, the changes are minute w/in the component group. hope this helps.
i do like my new bike. it rides very nice & is light. it has the fsa carbon cranks & ultegra except the rear derailure is durace. i've been riding xc for the last 7 yrs. this is my 1st road bike so i don't have anything to compare it to.
enjoy!

There are some small differences in the frame too.I ride an '05 c0. The wheelbase is a little longer on the '05 model. The small rear wheel cutout on the seat tube has been discontinued, probably because of the tcr advanced. No differences other than those, I dont think they would matter at all.
Great frame, whichever year it was made

The 05 TCR c has a 4mm longer chain stay giving the bike more stability. Found the bike to be very stable on decents over 40mph. It' the fastest accelerating bike I've ever had or ridden.

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I was looking for.
rick1,
I hear that the '04 gets a little sketchy on descents. They probably elongated the chainstay in order to remedy the problem.
zero,
As for the wheel cut out, I think you're right but why did they get rid of it?

If the chain stay is lengthened the wheelbase is longer thus no need for the tube cutout for tire clearance. The 04 handling is very nimble or responsive but preferred by some riders.
