Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

i went to my LBS and they had none, but did figure out i need a 51-53 cm bike. I really like the finest al b/c of the price and what you get for the price. Olny thing is i cant find any of these. none on ebay, even if i do it will likely not be my size. anyone selling one or know of a place where i can buy one?

This is how I found an '04 Fuji - look online at fujibikes.com for the Fuji dealers in your area and call each and every single one of them and ask them if they have it. If they say no right away without bothering to check, ask very nicely if they could double check. If they still say no, be more firm about it. If they don't respond to that, let loose some of that raving-wild-pissed-off-be-otch on them. I went to a LBS to check out the Trek 1200 in a 54, and the bike-punk didn't even look up at me - just told me they didn't have any Trek in a 54cm. I wandered around a little bit, and there it was, staring me right in the face. A whole row of Trek 1200s, with a 54 right in the middle. Then when I asked him to put pedals on it, he sighed and rolled his eyes like I had asked him for his first-born. Sheesh. I'll never go back there again.

Some bike stores have more than one location - be sure to ask if their other location has it and if they'll transfer the bike from store to store for you to try it. See if they have other bikes that you might be interested in. And while you're at it, ask if they have an '04 Fuji Women's Roubaix Pro for me in a 54 cm. Seriously. I'd love to try one.

Good luck!

I saw one today at the Performance Bike shop in Fremont, California. It's an '06 Fuji Finest LE priced at $599. 52cm.

Is there a reason you are looking for a 3 year old bike?

My girlfriend just got one over the summer, an '03 Fuji Finest for $300. They're still around in bike shops.

Damn I need to move then, the two shops in my area suck, they never have the bike I want to check out in stock and only really carry trek and specailized (nothign wrong with that but I want more choices)

7 months and I have access to 13 new shops

I know the feeling. What a way to NOT get a sale. I went to a store nearby my home, and was looking at a Fuji Roubaix, and the guy wouldn't even let me test ride it. I begged him, and finally he let me, saying "But just up the street and back...it's gotta be new when I sell it" What the heck?! Do you WANT to sell this bike or not? I would probably have bought it if he wasn't such a jerk. But I walked out the store instead, and went to another shop...

lol, the nearest Trek dealer is a 50mile drive from me.

The one shop in my town is a Cdale dealer, which is fine with me since I'm Cdale's ***** My girlfriend wasn't comfortable on the R500 because of the geometry, so we decided to look around at other brands. The next shop we went to happened to be rarely frequented for anything other than bike rentals (sketchy service and some false rumors regarding the owner and stolen bikes), so they had some NOS Fujis sitting around and my girlfriend bought one.

Exactly Penguin,
The stores that are going to have 3 year old bikes are either:
1) Way overpriced(like the one near me)
or
2) Are a questionable store where people do not buy many bikes.

Yup, but as long as you do your homework and are willing to be patient, you should be able to find what you want without ending up with stolen property.
