How are Fetish Frames????

So i was at the LBS yesterday. I was just looking for a pump on teh road for repairs and flats. So i was talking to the guy about repairing flats and he said i should go with this co2 pump. I asked how much the refills were and they were extremely expensive. I brought up the idea of using sporting goods co2 cartiages (threadless cartiages) , he said oh you can do that. He managed to say that those cartiages were 1/2 the price of ones he was selling. I asked if he was ever planning to tell me that, he said outright NO!!! I was so shocked, i have been to this LBS and they were extremely nice a professional. I am just hoping that it was that employee, else i am not coming back!!

But he managed to talk about my new F65. He was talking about frames. And i bought the bike to swap out the parts because i god it for an incredible deal, the problem is that the bike is slightly too small. I asked how much were frames and he said 1200. He was gogin on the idea that say a Cannondale frame goes for 1200 and the complete bike goes for 1500. I told him how that was right about the price, it doesnt make sense for someone to pay that. So i kind of got fed up because i no longer knew if he was telling me the truth.

But i was curious how good are Fetish frames???? Are they just like anyother AL frame by say trek and felt. And they are alot cheaper bc they have no name association!!!

So far, my frame is great. Its solid. I have the track frame, and the quality seems on par with some of the more established names, i.e fuji. I'm happy with it, and it only cost me 200 dollars, so I didn't have to break the bank to buy one.

Hope that helps...

I thought the geometry was a little unusual. Nice looking, but I would want to make sure if fit me.

are they the same as leader frames? I think someone else said that, not sure though.

I showed my wife a neat Fetish frame on Ebay once. Her response,

"What are you, some kind of pervert?"

Fetish = good, solid, generic frames made in the far east. No problem with the fact that they really don't have much of a brand presence yet. Certainly inexpensive enough and good looking.

I really like the look of their 43mm carbon clinchers. Heavy though at 1800g.

I've liked mine, not something I'd do for a dream build as the finish and stickers aren't of that quality. For a decent all around frame no complaints. Mine too was the track frame "Position".

IT'S HARD TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY AS A BIKE COMPANY WHEN YOUR WEBSITE IS WRITTEN USING ENTIRELY CAPITAL LETTERS. IT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING FROM 1995.

:D :D :D

I personally don't care what the website looks like, the welds look okay, and the price was right. I won this on ebay for $83 + 40 shipping yesterday. I will be sure to let everyone know how it turns out when the build is finished.

augh.. those sheets, i'm blind!

Are those put together in Taiwan, or mainland China? I won't buy anything from mainland China, Taiwan is okie-dokie with me.

my LBS guy has built a couple for customers - he's really been impressed with the apparent value. i haven't played with one myself, but i think they look nice.

Check ebay. Nothing but a generic maid in Asia frame.

About the co2 sporting good type. I have been warned they have oil in them.

sydney 11-05-05 05:42 PM

....and that doesn't seem to be a problem for people who have been using them for years.

Oh no, the oil might get inside my $2 tube!

I would be more concerned if I had a $200 paintball gun that used co2...
