Flat bars on a Cannondale Saeco?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Flat bars on a Cannondale Saeco?

I would like some opinions here...

I'm currently working on a project bike, and I decided to strip my CAAD4 Saeco of its components for a transplant. It's my winter bike so I'm not too worried about it... plus it's a little beat up. My main road bike is a CAAD5 in MUCH better shape. I also have a few extra parts (flat bars, 52/42 cranks, 8 speed thumb shifters/levers, 8spd cog, etc, etc.)
Would this bike look completely out of place as a hybrid/thing???? I know it's only supposed to matter to me, but I'm just curious if you guys thought it would look ridiculous or not....

Why worry, I was planning on doing the same thing on one of my bikes. You are in a much better position than I am. Shimano flat bar controls are very reasonable price wise. I have a Campy bike and their flat bar controls are on the high side. Good luck, it will look great when you are done.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'll post pics when I'm done. (Just for laughs!)
