Thanksgiving Ride in SC Low Country?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looks like I might be doing TDay on Hilton Head. Will bring bike and be glad to meet any BF members in the Beaufort/HHI/Savannah area for a ride. Anyone want to do a (relatively slow) Day-After-TDay century?

You had me looking on the calendar to find the Low Country Century for the day after Thanksgiving. I'd love to but I have a feeling I'll be babysitting whilst the wifey Christmas shops. Weather should be great though, hope you have a good time.

This is from the Coastal Bike Club Link under Local Rides

https://www.bicyclesavannahllc.com/BSLINKS.html

Nov 26 09:30 am 35 miles Hilton Head Poker Run Ride Take Rt 278 over the bridge onto Hilton Head, turn left at the first traffic light (Squire Pope Road) ... go 1.4 miles on Squire Pope ... turn left at the "Charlie's Crab and Hudson's" sign (it's a joint parking lot for both restaurants)... then park immediately on the right near Squire Pope (that will keep us as far away from the restaurants as possible). FUN: Each cyclist will accumulate a poker hand during the ride. We will award a "special prize" to the person having the best hand. I will explain the rules at the beginning of the ride. FOOD: Beverly and I want to invite those that ride to come to our home after the ride for lunch. Ron Knight and Beverly Perfect

sorry to miss you - have a great holiday.

reckon there's only one way to and from beaufort from hhi, but if you know of good roads to take around port royal, lady's island, etc. let me know? cheers.
