This is somewhat of a continuation of the "is this a good wheel deal" post. After reading that post I pulled the trigger and purchased a set of the Korso rims from Supergo for $89. After finding out my order would not ship until mid December I'm starting to feel a little buyer's remorse and I've kept looking at more wheels to compare.
A few comments on the Korso rims mention that they are basically the same as the Neuvation M28's, and possibly the Performance house brand as well. The more I look at these and read the specs, I'm starting to think they are all the same as the ALX 330 rims I am attempting to replace. Problem is, my ALX rims are crap. Am I just buying the same thing again only to have the same problems? What do you "experts" out there think of these wheels? I'm starting to think they are all made in the same place and just have different badges.

Performance owns Supergo, so their products are very likely the same. I've never seen a Neuvation wheel, but I have heard that they have better quality control than Performance (hand trued and tensioned, etc.). I don't know anything about Alex.

Hi,
I haven't used Alex wheels, but the reviews on roadbikereview.com (tendancy of reviewers to gush about their purchases, etc, taken into consideration) seem to indicate that the Neuvation and Supergo wheels are more satisfactory to their owners than the Performance Bike or Alex wheels.
I always half-thought that Alex were the OEM's for these wheels. If that's the case then they're making worse wheels for themselves than for their clients. That would be odd!
Cheers,
J.

I talked to John at Neuvation about this. Thing is, the parts are all "off the shelf" - so anyone can order the parts and put them together.
John at Neuvation stands by his product and has awesome customer service - period.

Fact is that these have 16 spokes front and 20 rear. Low spoke count wheels require high spoke tension to keep the wheel true. I wouldn't expect wheels like these to be "bomb proof" but they should be serviceable enough for most normal sized riders on normal roads.
I also purchased a set - waiting on delivery. I'm 170 lbs and ride on mostly good roads. As long as they don't go to pieces on me during rides I'm good; a little trueing work from time to time is no worry.
Some guy on roadbikereview.com said that they picked up some Open Pro/Ultegra 10 speed wheels from a retail Performace store for $150. This sounds like a killer deal if you can get in on it. They are most likely slower than the Korsa wheels, but should be super durable.

Anytime you decrease spokes the assembly has to be more precise. I think they have potential to be as good as Neuvation M28s.

Neuvation M28 = Performance Titan
ALX320/330 = Performance Fuego (no longer available)
A-Class Wheels ALX-320/330 are different than Neuvations, 1mm taller rim profile and different hubs.
I have both the Titans and Fuegos and got confirmation from John at Neuvation that he OEMs the Titans.

I ordered some and got my confirmation email and everything, but where do I check on when they will ship? Mid-December sounds kinda lousy, rats.

Thought I'd post a little update on the $89 Korso wheel sale. My wheels arrived yesterday - nicely packed by the way - and I can state the following:
Front wheel - 748 grams
Rear wheel - 1010 grams
Total wheels - 1758 grams - right at the stated combined weight
Spoke Tension (measured with a Park tension gauge)
Drive rear - 19-20
Non-drive rear - 14-15.5
Front - 17-18.2
These tensions are quite consistant - well within Park's suggested range.
Spokes are true bladed shape and are butted 2.3mm on the ends.
Rim seam is pinned with a machined brake tracking surface. The finish quality of all the different parts seems quite nice as are the bearings which are super smooth. Time will tell if they stay that way.
My only concern is the low spoke count on these, not build quality. With only 16/20 spokes, and tension not really all that high, I think these wheels are best suited for "clean road" use.
I'll try to post a review once I've had a chance to get them out on the road.

Nessism, thanks for the detailed evaluation! Now that I know they are well built, and discounting the low spoke count at this point, I'll just have to order a set for myself. Since you pushed me over the edge, I assume you will want to contribute to the purchase price.

So I went ahead and pulled the trigger and was surprised that shipping was under $20. Not only a good deal on the wheels, but affordable shipping too. What more could you ask for?

Wicked! I cannot wait! I did get an email just this morning saying that yeah, the wheels won't ship until mid-December, so that kinda bites, but it will make a nice early present to myself
