Frame size poll

What size frame do you use?

my58vw 12-02-05 04:19 AM

Wait wait you are missing one option... greater than 63cm...

TallRider 12-02-05 04:24 AM

Uh, bigger. At least for one of my bikes. I've got a 60, and it's too small for me so some of you have seen threads about massively-long quill stems flexing in the breeze.

Alekhine 12-02-05 05:35 AM

58.5 :(

I rounded up.

mirona 12-02-05 05:41 AM

I knew I was gonna get cutoff!

53

roadwarrior 12-02-05 05:51 AM

60cm Cannondale Six/13, that's measured center to the top of the top tube.

Not all of these frames and sizes are equal...I'd probably ride a 62 Trek with modifications...I've ridden a 58 Look...58 Serottta...

DXchulo 12-02-05 05:57 AM

I'm a 52. I feel so inadequate now.

If you look at eBay it will tell you the number of bikes in each size category, and it's pretty much a normal curve with most of them in the 52-54 range.

Grasschopper 12-02-05 06:03 AM

Um what are we measuring here? The size as stated on the frame? TT Length? ST Length?

As You Like It 12-02-05 07:06 AM

Darn it all, you missed out us short girls entirely. I'm on a 50cm Burley McKenzie when I'm on my road bike!

Matt Gaunt 12-02-05 07:22 AM

Hmmm, I thought 55 was a decent size until this poll.

Turns out I'm small, though at 6'0'' and 185lbs I wouldn't say so myself. And my bike is a custom!

Oh well, back to the grow bags...

eskimo85 12-02-05 07:47 AM

this poll needs about 5 numbers going below 54

Agreed.

56 for me, but it depends on how the frame is. One of my bikes is a 57.

Grasschopper 12-02-05 07:54 AM

Ok someone tell me where my vote goes. I currently ride a bike that Salsa calls a 56cm frame. It has a 56 cm ctc TT, a 56cm ctc ST which is 58cm ctt (other brands would measure it that way). I am about to buy a Specialized that is called a 54. It has a 54.8cm ctc TT (eff), and a 45cm ctc ST which is 50cm ctt.

Personally I look first at effective TT so I will call the first bike a 56 and the second a 55. :D

dogpound 12-02-05 09:15 AM

clfjmpr44 12-02-05 09:36 AM

About a 58 cm Habanero
A 56 cm Kona JTS
A 58 cm Trek 1000

uctke283 12-02-05 10:08 AM

I am 5'6, and I ride a 51cm, I can I can't be in the poll either ;(

Snicklefritz 12-02-05 11:52 AM

How about some smaller numbers in the poll? I ride a 48cm.

Are you saying that you are 6'0" and you only use a 55 cm???

Damn man, what kind of freak are you? ;)

lala 12-02-05 12:01 PM

Thanks for leaving out everything under 54." Don't you think woman and short men ride? geez....lame....

antiquebiker 12-02-05 12:02 PM

I consider 56 small for 5'11" as it forces me to bend over too far. I'm going to turn my stem upside down. I'm approaching 50 and don't like to have to look up so much....

Pedal Wench 12-02-05 12:05 PM

Really! I ride:
50cm, 51cm, 48cm, and two 50cm WSD bikes. What about us???

snowy 12-02-05 12:06 PM

Yeah, what about the little people???
I ride a 51cm

fixedfiend 12-02-05 12:07 PM

6', custom 56. top tube:c-c 57.5. ...just couldn't see myself on a ti compact.

Treespeed 12-02-05 12:09 PM

6' 4" on a 60 cm, I should probably ride something bigger, but I like having a bike I can throw around a bit.

I use a 61 and a 57. They both fit perfectly (and happen to have the exact same TT length)
