acronym overload, sorry but what does OCP mean?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Poseur:

Notice the Team kit matches the bike. Brand new, perfectly clean water bottles. Notice there is no sweat, no 'raccoon eyes' from sunglasses, looks like he could stand to lose 30 lbs. according to the BMI thread.

Most importantly, notice that he is posing, not riding.

These guys are not poseurs:

For one thing, their kit does not match.

Secondly, the guy with the Campy bibs has them on OVER his jersey.

Thirdly, the guy in back has on black socks and it's clearly before Labor Day.

She is not a Poseur:

I don't see no cleats on those boots and the bike has a kickstand! Oh, mon dieu!

There is a whole sticky thread entitled Standard Answers to Standard Questions, which would be somewhat similar to a Frequently Asked Questions type of thread.

I also was wondering what OCP meant but was afraid to ask.

please, i beg you... it's posEUR, not poser. It doesn't rhyme with "hoser" and one should linger, ever so slightly over the last syllable.

it grates on my eyes like fingernails on a chalkboard scrape on my eardrums.

spell anything else any which way you wish, use AOLese to your heart's content, but please, oh please, understand the difference between a Poseur and a poser! (and if folks around here did half of the threads p00ping on the OCPers wouldn't exist)

The knave is a dude riding some broken down bike with sweats and chuck taylors who will drop some OCP'er who is on their cool down stage of the ride. Use the search feature. it's a great story.

Hmm hip wasn't cooling down; he was busting his as$ against that guy. "The knave" is a guy with crap equipment, but also rides everyday and has skills.

yeah--I dunno if I would write about a dude who dropped me on a mountain bike wearing sweatpants and chuck taylors, seems like the Knave is pretty badass. Dissing his wardrobe/bike doesn't change it.

To answer the original question, OCP is a state of mind.

And a mind is a terrible thing to waste.

OCP is the most GRAND of all lifestyles. It is so choice.

I think you keep forgetting, the Knave is apparently quite a bit younger. And Hip....

Well, Hip has no friggin' HIP!!! What he has, is a friggin' ceramic teacup with a lolly-pop stuck in it (no offense Hip). I'd like to see you do better under those conditions. My hats off to him, all the way.
