Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

justfitme...any picts of your wife IN cycling gear next to her bike?;-)

no disrepsect, she looks very attractive in your avatar. I dont usually see many attractive women in cycling gear. I usually have the unpleasant luck of seeing the 250lb women who have decided to squeeze into their white bib shorts who have just recently taken up cycling for the month till they realize it takes to much effort to cycle and then give it up. lol

But thanks.

Nice read. But they do say that "only under certain conditions"

Thanks, but no thanks. Climbing a mountain and then descending on switchbacks is fun. I don't want to worry about whether my rims will fail due to braking. I want to go down fast - and safely at the same time. I still prefer the Exalith brake track even if it adds a few grams to my wheels.

Newest acquisition, a CAAD10-3. I also decided to pull my 1990 Criterium 3.0 out of retirement. New tires, tubes, bar tape, hub overhaul and a good wash/wax. She looks as good as new. Forgot how rough the ride was on this one.

Which handlebars do you have on there? I'm looking for something with a shallower drop than what I have right now

lol...sell i to me I could use a hybrid...na I just commented on the yellow because black bikes are common, when I go out for a ride I see black ones all the time but not very many yellow bikes. Yours is very nice

Bike is hot, but your seat.. seems to be in outer space!! How do you even put your foot down when you stop??

thanks, but ummm, who is sitting on their saddle and putting their foot down when they come to a stop? I am standing over my top tube. bike fits me, I assure you.

There are 2 other bikes on this page alone that have a larger saddle to bar drop than mine.

That's a great looking rig. How do you like the Boyd Wheels? Are those the 38's or 50's?

They're the Boyd Vitesse (aluminum, not carbon), 28mm deep.

I've been tempted to get my 3.0 back on the road just to see how that rough ride in my memory compares to my CAAD 5.

Why do the logos look different than what Boyd has on his website?:
