Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I agree. Looks good. My only peccadillo is that the Cannondale chainrings would give the entire bike a more classic look.

But I understand that the FSA rings are stiff.

Thanks! It's actually a 2010 and yes, completely built from the frame up. Total weight comes to 7150 grams with pedals.

I wouldn't have bought the FSA rings if the cranks came with Cannondale ones, but the SI SL cranks are hard to find and the ones I bought did not come with chainrings.

I've put over 100 miles on it since finishing the build a couple days ago and I'm not disappointed by purchasing a CAAD9. It's a great bike.

Were all hollowgrams made in BB30 only? I'm not actually sure. Just because I sell Cannondale's doesn't mean I know everything about them

So enlighten me!

i think you all will be pleased to know i bit the pavement this morning and cracked the aero extension, busted the promax light and dented the singulator conversion arm... wont have time until the weekend but ill have to go back to tiagra and i put on my c2 aerobars that actually only function to you know... make me slightly more agressive with the speed.

.... zero damage done to the CAAD9 or the Mavic Elites... the vicodin es tabs are in full effect so no pain either !

....i can see the grins now....

I know I don't have the sacred white garage door and mine isn't the newest to be had but I like her and she treats me well.

Wow, did you just ask your LBS to get you a CAAD 9 frame? Because when customers come to our shop and ask us for just the frame, and we call up our Cannondale rep, we're told that they can't just sell us the frame only....

In fact, the cannondale rep seems to tell my shop that people will have to wait up to 2 mos to get their framesets! ;[

Jeeze. This waiting is killing me.

Haha better to wait than to not get them at all. I'll have to call our Cdale rep again and see why they weren't willing to give me just the frame last time haha.

Yes, my LBS allowed me to get just the frame. It came with the fork and they wouldn't give me any credit for that unfortunately.

They did accidentally screw up my order and sent me a 2009 BB30 frame in black and red. Not quite sure where it came from. As far as I know the only 2009 BB30 CAAD9's were team issue bikes and this one had a standard paint job and no team issue decal. They quickly fixed the problem though. Both frames took ~2 weeks to arrive at my LBS.

I am thinking about purchasing a 2010 CAAD9 and I am interested in hearing what the users on this forum who own the stock bike think about the tektro brakes that Cannondale specs...Are you happy with them or would you recommend that I upgrade?...What about the stock Shimano wheelset specced on all the models except for the Dura Ace one?...

Honestly, the Tektro brakes work just fine. They have plenty of stopping power and are pretty stiff. I've recently upgraded to SRAM Force calipers and I noticed they're a little stiffer, but don't offer a much bigger increase in stopping power over the stock Tektro brakes. The Force calipers do look prettier though
