Might as well make my first post here --
'06 Bad Boy Disc, bought on clearance back in April or so. I was seduced after originally going to the shop to get street tires for my '99 Schwinn MTB. Three test rides and a stem swap later, it was mine.
One of the guys at work says he wants to buy it, too. I'm tempted to sell it to him for what I paid, replacing it with a Bad Boy Ultra (may wait to see what they do with the '08 models, too).
I have no illusions about this bike; it's neither a proper road bike nor an MTB, and I've been pondering what it would be like to add one of each of those to my stash. I gotta say, though, that it's a lot of fun in-town, and has gotten me back into biking after a few years off.
Notable changes include Crank Brothers pedals and a Fizik Pave CP saddle (although I'm still not 100% set on my saddle choice).

Barracks Si... don't I know you from EPHAtch?
Anyway...great bike, man.
I also have a BadBoy Disc. The Ultra was almost 'too' MTB for me and the Cyclocross disc was way too $$$
I ride a roadbike 90% of the time but this is my off-season and occasional fire-road bike; I love it.
What saddle do you have?
I also switched out the stem on mine... it was way too long.
Switched to knobby cross tires of all-terrain/bad climate use, as well.
Hold on to it! I'ts certainlya niche bike, but a solid one at that.
Good riding!

LOL... yeah, you do! I've decided to stick with the same username at each forum to keep things simple for myself.
Yeah, it's pretty good. It makes my '99 Schwinn MTB seem very heavy & slow. The saddle is a Fizik Pave CP for now; I'd like to try out some Specialized saddles as well before dumping cash on an Arione or Aliante. On my last test ride before actually buying the bike, I rode for about 15-20 minutes (or so it seemed) and then my lower back started to hurt. I told the shop about it, and without even blinking, they switched the stem to an H2O (it's okay..) that was maybe an inch shorter. It wasn't something that I would've thought to do, but it made all the difference.
I'm also wondering if I could swap a larger front disc onto it. I tend to use the front brake a lot more than the rear, and I think it's eating up its front pads about twice as fast as the rears. You know my EP; you can understand that I'm all about bigger brakes.. lol
I tend to ride to work (only 1.3 miles.. lol) 3 or 4 days a week now, sometimes more. I'm thinking of selling the Schwinn and getting a Cannondale MTB, either a Rush or Caffeine 29'er -- but I'll only do that if I go find some dirt around here. I've also been eyeing a Synapse or CAAD8; flat bars are fine for the city, but I always wonder if spinning for a couple/few hours at a time is nicer with proper drop bars and road frame.
My EP is getting a lot of rest at home. Maybe I can further justify making it less civilized and more of a track car.

My roadbike is a CAAD 7 and I love it... I have heard great things about the CAAD 8 and 9 so you probably won't go wrong whatever you end up doing. I don't know a lot about their MTBs except the reputation which is solid.
I hear you on the same username thing
Glad to hear the EP is still around; almost at 40k here, and still stock as hell... all my $ seems to go to bike upgrades.
good riding and see you around the forums!

Awesome commuter. I need a bike to just ride around town, for either errands of when the fiance and I just want to go out, ride, and ignore the roadie fuss.

2007 Cannondale Optimo 1, the paint scheme is called "Patriot Blue."
You don't see it on the Cannondale site because the Optimo 1 is shown in raw aluminum and the rendering they have of the blue frame colour makes it look much lighter than it actually is. Here's a Six13 in natural sunlight with the same colour:

New carbon fork, Ultegra brakes, eleven81 stem, and a Kalloy Guizzo post. She rides much smoother.

There's going to be little to no change in the BBU for '08. I work at a C'Dale dealer and from what I've gleaned from the BBU blurb in the e-mail PDF it had they're just swapping pedals to a hybrid flat/clipless. I have a BBU and absolutely love it. I've got a set of Bontrager Select Disc MTB wheels for it so it's my do everything commuter/hardtail MTB. But on another Cannondale note, their new TT/Tri bike is going to absolutely blow your mind compared to the old Slice. They are amazingly aero, hot and light *Drool*.
Isn't the Six13 already one of the best of its kind? What did they do to it for '08?
BTW, their front page is black; one of their riders, Ryan Cox, passed away yesterday.

It's actually their TT/Triathlon bike. The old line was the Ironman Slice seriees which did top out with a Six13 model. What I can say about the new models is that the go to an all carbon, much like the new SuperSix, and you will see ALOT more drool-worthy tube shaping etc. in the efforts of making a more aero bike. As well they've got a big Z exclamation mark on the top of the line bike in two ways.

Before & After
'92 (could be 91) R400. Bike was free from a friend & also my first road bike in about 15 years
How it looked when I recieved it:
Rode nicely & was in great condition for its age. But it needed some work to make it a little more fun & comfortable:

Indeed, Truvativ BB and Crankset. I wonder why Cannondale choose that one? Did you get the triple or double? I've still got to get pedals...would using SPD violate the unspoken road rules?

Regarding the frame, I love the hourglass stays, the varying cross section on the downtube, and the smooth welds!
