The best frame pump
Looking for a frame pump (not CO2) that "really" works up to over 100PSI easily (even my wife will be able to use). I currently use Crank Brothers Power Alloy Mini Pump but it doesn't do the job even up to 100PSI unless you are a very strong person.
10x. |
Topeak Road Morph is the frame pump that I think's easiest to pump to 100psi.

The RM is a big larger/heavier than other full-size frame pumps (e.g. Zefal HPX [I have 2 of these]), but no frame pump is easier, faster to 120 psi. And you'd have to be a complete clutz to ever break a valve stem with the RM. Best. |

If you're a weight weenie who wants to save a couple of hundred grams or an OCP who doesn't want to strap a huge pump to your bike, then there are some much smaller pumps that can still deliver high pressures (if you have the arm strength). The Barbieri Carbone, for example, is about 1/4 the weight and 1/4 the size of the Topeak, but can still deliver 100+psi (though it requires more time and effort). |
Another vote for the Road Morph (+5?)
It has a flexible hose like a regular floor pump (plus a little "foot" that flips out), and even has a gauge. |
I just got the Topeak Turbo Morph, which I believe is the MTB version of the Road Morph. It has a digital guage.
120psi without too much effort. I also have the Barbieri. Its ok. Using the Morph is easier. |

Another Road Morph vote here. +6, I think. More than once I've helped out other riders in the group with it. Especially those who only had CO2 with them.
|
+7?
It's a little bulky, but nothing gets to 110-120 psi faster and more reliably. I have CO2, an old Blackburn MTN Air, and a Topeak Mini Master Blaster DX, and the Road Morph "blows" them all away. OK, no more puns, I promise. |
I like the zefal hpx frame pump.
http://www.epinions.com/bike-Pumps-All-73_HP-X If you have a pump-peg on your frame you can't beat it. |
+8 Topeak Road Morph.

I use a "Turbo Morph Digital." (replaced by dial gauge version) http://topeak.com/products/pump_morph_lead.html Turbo seems to be Mountain+dial gauge. Road comes with or without an inline gauge. 120psi easily & quickly with the Turbo. |
my vote is for the blackburn road frame fit pump. I have the first gerneration and they have since redesigned it look of it but I believe the guts are still the same. it gets me to 100+ psi quickly and it looks as clean as a pump can look on a frame.

Rats. I should have got a topeak as well. I have the Crank Brothers Power Alloy Pump with a guage and evertime the pressure goes past 95psi, the pump latch disengages and lets the air out. I thought I was not strong enough..but looks like others have the same problem as well.

+10 Road Morph. With the built in gauge, short hose, and foot peg, you can put in full pressure without risk of tearing the valve off.
|
zefal hpx has served me well (how unfortunate ;) )
|
road morph, if you wanna buy one PM me--very reasonable
I am moving to co2 |
Big Road Morph fan here.
I had a double century in hellacious rain and 14 flats in the last 100 miles. The pump did industrial duty and I won't ride without it anymore. (Good thing I had a patch kit with extra patches and 2 extra tubes along) |
My 20+ year old Silca still works great and I can get over 100 PSI without too much strain. The Campy head is rusted, its all scratched, dirty, and I have never serviced it except for replacing the seal in the head (those pesky threaded presta valves ate it up).

I'm a CO2 convert myself, but I have a Road Morph. Haven't used it in forever, but it was solid when I needed it. Like it enough to keep it should I get the urge to carry the pump on my bike again. I'm a wuss about the paint on the top tube getting rubbed.
So, +11. |

Get a kick-ass mini.
Like the Barbieri CarbOne. You get get it at Colorado Cyclist for $30 plus shipping. I got one, I can get it up to 130 psi on my new Colnago very easily, and it's carbon fibre, too! |
