Bib tights or just regular tights?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bib tights (no pad) over regular non-bib shorts. I find that non-bib tights tend to sag because tension in the knees pulls down on the tights.

During warm weather I prefer bib shorts but when it's cold, I wear my non-bib shorts under non-bib, non-padded tights. Why? Because when it's cold enough to require tights, I need a lot of hot coffee to get me out of the door, which means that 20 or 30 minutes later I really have to go and it's just a lot easier that way.

I prefer bibs with the stirrups like one person here mentioned. I like bibs because they keep your tights pulled up rather than riding down and bunching up at the ankle. I did not think I would like the stirrup type but really do and wish I had more pair. I have a pair of fleece lined and they are great!

My thermflece tights are bib. My regular tights are non paded Perals that go over my shorts. In the cold, I prefer bibs. In the heat, the bib shorts feel much warmer, atcually too hot.

non-bib tights over non-bib shorts. Otherwise it's too much work to pee.

Try suspenders on your tights - works well.

I live and die by my PowerStretch Fleece tights, warm and comfortable as a velvet glove. Did I say versatile too? At $ 37.00, I laughed all the way to my bank ))))

Make that +1. I don't know why other cycling specific tights don't use stirrups. I have Castelli and Pearl tights with the zippers, and the Castelli zippers break, the Pearl ones chafe (I literally have scars on my ankles from these), and both of them ride up and leave a small unprotected gap after several miles riding. My Assos tights have the stirrups, which are perfect for cycling applications.
