Fuji sizing...important!!! HELP!!!
How do the Fuji sizes run? I found one on ebay and the auction ends tomorrow and I really like the bike. It is 54cm. I am about 5'6" or 5'7". Will this be the right size for me. If not perfect, will I be able to make it comfortable because it is fairly inexpensive. Please help me out FAST!

It is unsafe to buy a bike on ebay without knowing what size you are. I suggest that you haul yourself to the LBS and get an idea of what size you need on the same Fuji. The reason is that some of the more recent Fujis (Newest, Finest) have "compact sizing" so a 52 cm fits a 54 cm person. It's kind of like clothing sizing - in one brand I wear a Medium, in another brand I wear a Small, it just depends.
That being said, I have a Newest from 2004 (they didn't have the compact sizing back then) and it is a 54 cm. I am 5'7".

I wouldn't buy it unless your are familiar with what size you already need and can look at a geometry chart and pick out your size.

I'm 5'9 and have a 2002 Fuji Finest (same frame, basically) and a 54cm fits me perfectly, if that helps at all.

do you know of any other brands that fit the same (or close to the same) that I might find in a LBS? The ones around here have Trek, Lemond, Cannondale, Felt, and Giant.

Compare geometry charts for the different brands, that will give you an idea of comparable bikes size wise anyway.

The Fuji website does not say that the 03 Finest AL is compact geometry. I am a 54 cm in both Trek (I tried the 1000 and 1200) and the 04 Fuji Newest WSD. So for me, it was the same. May or may not be similar for you. The Finest AL is a nice bike - my friend has an 03 Finest WSD and she loves it - but keep in mind the WSD is a steel bike, not aluminum.

I'm 5'9" barefoot, with a 30" inseam, and I'm happy with how my 54 cm Fuji fits me. (I think that for my height, I have a long torso and short legs, so the height difference between you and I may not be that relevant.) My bike has the traditional frame geometry rather than the compact geometry. In a Fuji compact frame, I'd take a 50 cm.
Another thing to check out would be the stand over height. Fuji lists it as 30.4 inches for the 2003 Finest Al in the 54 cm size. You can measure the stand over height of your current bike to see how the Fuji would compare. A general rule of thumb for road riding is that you should have at least an inch of clearance between you and the frame. That's when you're standing with your feet flat on the ground, and in your riding clothes and shoes.
Comparing fit between brands can get a bit tricky. Different manufacturers use different reference points for how they measure their frames. Pretty much everyone measures from the center of the bottom bracket, along the seat tube. However, some companies use the center of the intersection of the top tube and the seat tube as the second reference point. Other brands, such as Fuji, measure all the way to the top of the seat tube. Therefore the exact same frame could be labelled two different sizes, depending on how it is measured. These sizes could be 2 or 3 cm apart. If you're comparing between brands, make sure that you're really comparing apples to apples.

I'm 6'2" and hefty but I'm RIGHT at home on a 61cm fuji bordeaux... this almost concerns me because it doesn't sound right... but it feels like a glove.

Isn't the top tube more important than the seat tube length? I'm a 32 inches inseam guy and uses a 54cm Fuji bike, yet I find it a little 'big' since I have a short torso. Well hmm.. not sure here..

Avoid the whole problem. Visit two or three good bike shops in your town. Look at all the bikes in your price range. Get fitted for the bike. Get the bike professionally assembled. Ride it. Enjoy it. Go back in a month for the free adjustments that a good LBS provides to its customers. And, enjoy a bike that was properly fitted to your body and to your riding style.

Be careful with Fuji sizing. They are measured C-T. In other words, it goes from center of bottom bracket to the top of the seatpost. You'll find that the stated size is 2 - 2.5 or 3 cm greater than normal. For example, Markio said a 61 cm fits him like a glove and he's 6'2". That's because the bike is more like a 58 or 59. But it's not because it's "compact" sizing as someone said.
The 54 you're considering will fit more like a 52. That probably is a little on the small size if you're 5'6" or 5'7"
