Well, I've got about 700 miles on my Mike Garcia wheels now...
Last night on my ride home from work it was dark out for the last few miles and as I was flying down this one slightly downhill stretch at about 25mph I rode over a few really rough patches in the road pretty hard that weren't in the best shape but nothing happened to the wheels. Then a minute or so later I was going over a train crossing at about 19mph and really hit the front wheel hard on something but again, no damage. Wheels are still true and strong.
It's funny, I was thinking after those two incidents of going back to my mtb for commuting duties until it stays light enough so I can actually see the road on my ride home.
BTW-I am riding on Aerohead Velocity rims laced to Speedcific hubs. Got them back in October.

Throw the stick!!!!
Very nice. I've got a pair of his wheels (american classic hubs laced to DT Swiss RR 1.1 rims with wheelsmith spokes) and they are amazing. I have had them 1.5 years now and have only needed to true them twice. Both times were after crashes.

I've had my MG Aeroheads for a year now. Just as nice today and when they came out of the box.

BTW-The cheapest wheels (the ALEX wheels that my bike came with) had issues at less than 100 miles. I wouldn't trust them to 700 let alone 7000 miles.

The 20 spoke front wheel wasn't exactly confidence inspiring on 45mph descents either.

SDRider, for your safety ,keep your eye on them for a while! I was doing tour De Cure century in Riverside a while back. I hit a rr-track pretty hard. Looked at my wheel and all was fine, even perfect. Thirty miles later, it did the dance!
Sometimes a hit can set them off by loosening the tension on some of the spokes, and won't be noticeable for a while.
Not sure how long you rode them after the hit or how long your commute is, but keep your eyes open!
