Power meters & mac compatability?
I'm thinking about getting a power monitoring system for my bike...does anyone know
if there are devices that are compatible for macs when it comes to downloading data? Most of the ones I've seen talk about downloading to PC. Not sure if running PC emulator will work with this stuff. Anyone have experience with this? |
try this link. http://www.cyclingforums.com/t300650...ad-issues.html
I just got a Powertap SL. I was p o'd because it came with a serial port hook up instead of USB. (contrary to the review in velonews)I had to get a keyspan serial port adapter. It's my undrsatanding that you can get a powertap to work with a mac if you get a serial port adapter that's compatible OS X. |
As far as i know there are NO Mac compatible Power Meter software available. You must run Virtual PC on the mac and then configure the serial-usb ports.

I'm watching ibike pro closely. Quite cheap versus the established power meters out there. They have a different approach to measuring power and the should be publishing their test results soon.
Mac compatibility also. |

I'd just bite the bullet and build up a really cheap pc or buy one used off of ebay. Or wait till tomorrow and buy a new intel mac mini and dual boot windows on that.
