I ride ALL THE FRICKING TIME in the rain. It sucks, but thats why I'm called a racer...I guess?

Yes, and don't ride into puddles unless you know the road you're cycling on very well, or can see the bottom of the puddle. Puddles tend to hide things like massive, bicycle-eating potholes.

If you ride in the ran, do more bike maintenance. Rain water off the road comes with grit that'll screw things up over time if you don't remove it. Then there's the issue of rust. Also, my brakes go down the toilet pretty quickly the more I ride in rain.

Yup. Over three weeks of daily rain and daily riding is really doing a number on my brake pads and rims
:(

I have a rain bike. Full fenders, rack with trunk to hold rain gear, rain gear to put in rack trunk when the rain stops.

I stay off the big hills in the rain, though. No fun being far from shelter when nature starts doing her worst.

So if I ride in the rain can I be a racer like you?

If you start racing, I suspect warblade would kick your butt though. What he means to say is that he rides whether he wants to or not.

If you're a racer, you HAVE to ride in the rain because the guys you're racing against are out there right now riding in the rain.

And you might as well ride your good bike because it's (gasp) only a bike.

No one who rides your miles is a weenie! Even in Socal there are tough days!

He'd give his last month on Earth for a chance to go out for just one more ride.

Live it while you got it, or give it to someone who'll use it.

I don't understand. Why wouldn't you ride in the rain? California is a strange place indeed.
