Motebecane, Pedal Force, or Scattante?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Motebecane, Pedal Force, or Scattante?

I have a friend who is on a limited budget, wants the best carbon bike he can get for the money. Does Motebecane make a carbon bike? If so, can anybody recommend one over the other two? Any comments from those riding any of the above would be appreciated.

you'll hear lots of good things about the scatt cfr here - do a search and you find all kinds of threads....

the moto sure LOOKS sexy, and imo represents a great value, but no one here i know of has yet reported on its ride, fit, finish, etc....

edit: at least one BF member - bayareawheeler - has bought the moto, but weather and life have prevented him from riding it - or at least reporting yet... we'll hopefully be hearing that soon....

edit #2: the moto can be seen here.

edit #3: i know of several members - patriot, fmw, and rjtokyo, and soon to be joined by me - who have built a bike with a pedal force frame, but don't know anyone who has bought the complete pf bike.... again, search pedal force and you'll find good reading....

As a Scatannte CFR owner, I agree with Ostuni about researching previous posts, looking at the various web sites and perhaps coming back with a more specific question or two once you've done your research.

Pedal Force won bike of the year (beating all number of big name brands) in UK magazine Cycling Plus' end of year poll.

They are probably the most stringent magazine in the English speaking world.

The 3 bikes look so similar (in pictures) that I wouldn't be suprised if they were all made in the same factory in Taiwan. I would just buy the one that fit the best (if there are any differences in geometry). If one is sold by a local shop, I would get that one just for the warranty service, test rides, and help with fitting.
