I received the wheelset for the Nishiki I'm building for my son (as originally reported here). I slid them into the frame for some quick pictures, for the purpose of keeping everyone who requested updates in the above thread updated.
The wheels are 650c Bontrager Selects, scored on eBay for $119 plus shipping. That's a really competitive price for 650c wheels; the cheapest I'd seen prior was $159.
The rear hub, cassette-less.

I'm going to pull the stem, bars, and seat off of another Nishiki (an International, I believe) that I have in the garage. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a Shimano 600 derailleur set that handles 8 speed and Biopace on eBay. Once I have those, it'll be off to the bike shop for Sora brifters, cable installation, adjustment, and a thorough once-over. I hope to have the bike completed by my son's birthday on February 18.
