Took my first test ride today!!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Took my first test ride today!!

I went to the LBS today to test ride the bike I plan on purchasing in the next month. It was a Trek 1500. They had a 52 and a 56 in stock, and the sales rep told me that I needed a 54, I rode the 56 just to see how the bike would ride in general, and it was flat-out awsome, Having never ridden a rode bike before, the sheer efieciency of it was amazing. I did feel alittle streched out since this bike was 1 size too big. I thought I was hooked on road cycling before, but now, I think I am going to be addicted to it. As a final note, any comments on the Trek 1500, like the good, the bad, or the ugly.

Sounds like you worked things out with your parents. Hope all went well. Best of luck with your new bike selection.

I still don't quite have the funds for it yet, but by this time february I hope to own it. I currently have about $800 and the bike is $1150 at my LBS. so 350ish to go, plus tax... Its going to be awhile...

That was the bike the sales rep told me was about the same price wise, i haven't test ridden it yet, but as of now, my only dislike is the paint colors, they had the red and white one in stock. When I first went to my LBS the first bike I looked at was the 1500, for 1 reason alone, the paint scheme, I love it. But I might test ride the allez elite sometime, They only have the 58 in stock and I would need a 52 or 54...
