CR1 - XS or S?
Hi,
I am in the midst of buying the Scott CR1 Team
I need some advice regarding which size would be best for me.
XS - 49cm
S - 52cm
I'm about 172-173cm in height, with an inseem of 50-51.
I was lucky enough to have both XS & S sizes for a test ride.
My question is regarding the SEAT POST, as on the XS the seat post was edged up really high, is that alright? As the CR1 Team seat post is carbon, does it break easily?
Thank you.

A smaller frame will also have the bars lower for the higher seatpost. Going up a size would probably put the bars and seat at a better posistion relative to each other. There are some great fit calculators online... go by what feels best.
BTW, carbon seat posts are really good as long as they are not torqued too much (use a torque wrentch if you have a heavy hand in tightening posts...

As far as I know, the only safety issue is that the bottom of the post should extend below where the top tube and seat tube meet.

On most seat posts(all the ones I have ever had) there is a max height line. If you are above that I guess there is a risk of it snapping, and the bike would probably be to small.

Check your 'inseem' as 50-51 cm 'seams' a little bit in error.

Thank you for your feedback.
Just did a measurement on my inseam again.
Shucks, I think the Bike Shop told me wrongly.
I calculated and found an inseam of 75cm. (from feet to crotch).
The bike shop i'm getting the CR1 from has only the XS in stock, and they are pushing really hard to get it sold. The S size was the owners bike in which I tried on. Don't want to be buying the XS if it really does not fit properly.
Thank you.
