does anyone use "attack/force"
I am about to buy a new set of tires. I have been using GP3000 for some time now and absolutely love them, both for how durable they are and how they roll. However, in an attempt to always buy new things I was thinking about buying a set of attack/force tires. Does anyone have any experience? How do they compare?

I have the Force/Attack setup on one of my wheelsets. I like that combination but not as much as I like the GP4000's. I thought I liked the Force/Attack combo the best until I mounted my GP4000's today. The F/A combo is a very responsive tire and from experience it is pretty durable. I have only flatted on mine one time in the last year of using them but I don't use them everyday. I have no complaints regarding the F/A's but I like the GP4000's even better

I've been riding on A/F and have been very happy with them. In fact I am on my second set because I was so pleased with the ride, wear, and resistance to flats with attained from the first set. I like how the A/F tire sets wear more uniformly or evenly (front vs rear tire wear) which allows me to replace my tires in 'sets' without feeling guilty about throwing away a good front tire.
Prior to A/F I used Bontrager and Michelin Pro's, which were nice but the rear tires were gone way before the fronts. For a while I was rotating tires (front to rear) but was infomred here on BF that is not a great idea. I like the pro's, they just didn't last long and I seemed to always be repairng flats.
Anyway, I like the A/F combo but I have not tried the GP4000. If you try the GP4000's and are pleased, let us know.

I have Limited Milage on my A/F Set, so I'm not sure how valid my opinon is. They are nice, but I think slightly harsher than my Michelin Pro 2's.
They certainly have less volume to the tire, and take slightly more effort to mount due to the tigher fit/smaller volume. The front is a 22C and the back is a 23C.
Here they are mounted. I like the look of them more than I thought I would, however I think the Michelin's give a smoother ride, with slightly more confidance in cornering.

funny... i found them /easier/ to mount than my pro2s. weird.
i'd also say that they're a bit harsher than my michelins, but i like them all the same. 1000 miles on them so far, and they still look new.
i just got a set of 4000s for my new build, so i'll update this in a few months and try to do a comparison. mind you, i have the a/fs on my fixie, but i do wind up riding it most of the week, so i've definitely put some time on them. plus, they've survived my skids, which i doubt you'll do on a road bike

I found the narrower front one a real pain to mount, and this was on rims that nromally take tyres easily. Once they were on, they were good, but overall I prefer the michelin carbons I now use.

I've had the Attack/Force combo on for several weeks now. Prior to that I used Conti 3000's and Vredestein Fortezza's. I see very little difference in the ride quality of any of the tires. The Vredestein's wear out faster than the Conti's. The Attack/Force combo front tire looks skinny from the "driver's seat" . I think it rides a bit harsher than the 3000's, but it may be a perceptual thing looking down at that skinny tire. I only have 300+/- miles on the combo so no mileage report yet.

I like my A/F set and bought a second set for my other wheelset. I think I have about 1500 miles on my first A/F. I want to try the 4000's though. BTW, biketiresdirect.com has A/F sets for 80 bucks.

I've placed about 3000 miles on my current set of Attack and Force tires. During that time, I did not experience one single flat tire. They feel very confident in descents and comfortable on long rides.
I have had good fortune with all Continental Bicycle tires but the Force and Attack are my favorites.

I had a set last season, replacing a set of S-Works tires. They were lighter, hence faster with better grip. They were harder to mount (Mavic CXP-10 rims), but I then learned how to roll on tires with my palms rather then pushing with my thumbs. The rear Force tire suffered a major puncture and had to be trashed. They are pricy, listing at US$125 for the set. You can't buy just one.

I like attack/force, and have them on a couple of different wheelsets. I also have michelin pro race on another wheelset. I guarantee you without looking, I couldn't tell the difference. uAnyone who says they can tell a difference in ride must have a more sensitive ass than mine.
