Does anyone ever worry that life would have no meaning without the thrill of climb, descend, pursuit. Repeat. :eek:

That's why God invented mountaineering....gives ya something to do without a bicycle.

If unable to ride, I think most BF members would be perfectly content to simply assemble and disassemble their bikes.

:lol: What's funny is when some of those weight weenies weigh their bikes without pedals. It's almost as if they never really thought of riding the thing.

Very true. Obsession with weight is their excuse for being bad technique, speed and fitness. It's not time to go back to the penny farthing, but Merckx managed it without all this new nonsense.

Some of the original TDF riders would think even Merckx is a wuss for having all those gears. I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

Headwinds can be just as brutal - and on a loop, you get it all - headwinds, crosswinds, & tailwinds for dessert.
