Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

George Hincapie

So, today i was driving over Paris Mtn in Greenville, SC... and there were quite a number of people cycling.

Climbing up the mtn i spotted Craig Lewis from TIAA-Cref and not far behind him was George Hincapie completely decked out in disco attire ... of course i waved and gave a thumbs up and hincapie acknowledged with his classic smile.

I was riding once last summer and one of his riders that rides for him here locally and his GF smoked by me as I was starving for Air at about 13 MPH. Chris Monteceleon is his name I think. I see him and his GF all the time overhere on our dairy farm roads.

Pretty neat. I would need a Honda 600 Croctch rocket to keep the paceline.

lol

i actually live near columbia but have a girlfriend that lives in travelers rest, just a mile or so from furman/paris mtn. its actually the second time i've seen hincapie out riding... the first was sometime last year when apparently he was riding with lance ... but everytime i've seen him hes been riding over paris mtn on old altamont dr... i know he still has a house up on top... and i'm pretty sure hes there more so now than at his condo in downtown greenville. its just great being able to see a high caliber athlete in training right where you live.

Our title sponsor is making their clothes..

Ironically - members of our elite team were close friends with them.

Me I am the guy with the blue pin-stripe shirt and long bushy hair.

George Hincapie is my hero. The Hardest Working Man in Cycling. Period.

If Euro disses him, I'll be forced to go to England, hunt him down, and kill him. Wait, scratch that, I can't AFFORD the UK. Damn.

You're safe Euro. For now....

We would acutally need to float a Bike Forum Bond Issue to finance the rental car and hotels in the UK. We were there in June and it was pretty out of control in terms of US dollars.
