Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I really appreciate that power calculator you posted.

Is their some kind of of other radical formula that can extrapolate with mph gain with bodyweight loss(assuming no loss of power).

For example, a 10 lb loss of fat = 2 mph increase on the flats (or climbs) or, as Ahnuld would say "or sompting like dat!"?

Sin...just can't leave it alone. Good thing you aren't into pro cycling. Lance always seems to be under your skin...poor thing. He would be dusting your a55 in the head game alone without trying.

I am into pro-cycling, it just seems that Lance is coming off more and more two-faced.

Jan is so much more appealing to me, like a John Daly type- what you see is what you get. I hope Ullie breaks their legs this July, but that's not really in his nature to run opponents into the ground - he's a great talent and will do enough to win.

EURO: Obnoxious/Arrogant/Offensive/Humorous. Above all he's knowledgeable, does his research rarely talks out of his arse.

Sincity: Obnoxious/Annoying. Never does any research hasn't clue to what he's talking about. Pollutes this board with endless stupid questions that he could find the answers to in seconds if only used google.

Look, all jocks are a55holes - period (I don't attend lectures on stereotyping - I'm already set in my ways and it's far too late). Most if not all people are two-faced in more than one situation. You're constant berating of LA serves no purpose except to show he's in your head - all the time.

I personally hope the whole peloton goes down in a horrendous pileup breaking every one of their necks and us nerds can then descend upon them and feed off their carcasses.

Is that too harsh? Do I have issues that need resolving?

Euro's orginal link will do the trick, just change your body weight variable and see how it impacts speed. For example I'd have to lose 40lbs to gain 1mph average.

I didn't see Euro's calculator, here's one (sorry if it is the same one). Have no idea as to its usefulness....

Amen. But at least he seems to have bought a bike, so all those threads may be in the past.

Somehow I think this post violates enough forum rules to get you suspended for a while. One can only hope.

Since gmason lives in Europe I think you pretty safe from him taking you up on your offer, but I'm sure you knew that.

Sort of a backhanded compliment for Euro, he's the expert on "body fat and cycling performance".
