Older DuraAce crankset ??

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Older DuraAce crankset ??

I am thinking of replacing my triple crank with a double. There is an older Dura-Ace crank that I am wondering about. My current bike is a "9-speed" cassette and the front crankset is a TruVativ Touro with a PowerSpline bottom bracket. What do you know about the CK670 Shimano Dura-Ace "9-speed" Cranksets with Octalink V2 Bottom Bracket? This bracket is not the external bearing style of the new Ultegra and Dura-Ace. Does this have the "creaking" problem some list with the original Octalink? Would I be better off with the new Ultegra with outboard bearings?

Thanks for any input.

try an 11-23 on your triple...j/k

I'd go Ultegra with outboard bearings...I would not want to be hunting for the BB for that DA crank in a few years...Shimo does not keep making older BB...
