brake pads stolen

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

brake pads stolen

took a nice, but cold ride this morning. Stopped for a hot chocolate at the cafe down the street on the way back and came out to a nice surprise on my bike. Someone stole my kool stop brake pads. All f'n four of them. Probably some punk kids thinking there funny. this is the second thing stolen from my bike while in a store in 2 weeks. I know its gotta be kids since I've never seen any other crime in town besides brats and there petty crap. Sorry, just needed to vent.

This is why I've never wanted to leave my bike outside, unattended

Attempted murder.

No differant than sabotaging the brakes on your ex-spouses car, in order to collect the insurance money.

Surely there's something more valuable to steal on your bike than.........brake pads? I mean, were these platinum edition LA signed Kool Stop pads, or what?

The funny thing about them is their stuck with bad skin, poor attitude, mood swings, and pre-mature ejaculation.

Its beyond frustrating to see people do things like this. Their only reward is their twisted entertainment in causing misery for other human beings. Somebody out there thinks it would be amusing to see you ride your bike and suddenly find that you had no brakes.

Here in SoCal, the other night some person(s) walked thru a neighborhood and knifed the tires on 40+ automobiles. Imagine all of the people rushing out to go to work early Friday morning only to find four flat tires on their car. Some sick person(s) watched with amusement from afar as these poor victims had to have their cars towed and repaired.

Is that supposed to be funny?

Someone keeps vandalizing my truck in my (safe and quiet) neighborhood. I've left my garage open an entire day and not had anything stolen, not the sports cars, not the motorcycle, nothing. But yesterday I go out to find that someone spit on my windshield and left two beer caps and some trash in the truck bed. In the past, someone stole my cloth rear tailgate on halloween and broke my mirror off a few months prior. It's probably some punk d*ck kids doing this, I've vowed that if I catch the next person vandalizing my truck they are going to hurt for a few days at least.

That just sucks. Are you the guy who had his lights stolen a couple of weeks ago? I swear upon all things holy that if I ever caught someone doing that to my bike that they would rue the day their sorry ass was born. I am not a violent man...never have been, but my bike is all I have and I will be damned if some punk is gonna derive his jollies from depriving me of something I have worked so hard for. I feel for you.

Geez and I am usually the passive, mellow one .

Cheers,

Brian

It was my cyclecomputer, but that was in a different town, like 50 miles way. that was during a water fillup on my last solo metric a week or so ago. Whats next, my saddle.

Well, preaching to the choir here of course, but that is just about the lamest ****ing thing I've ever heard. Brake pads?! Wow, if I ever saw someone trying to remove someone's brake pads I think they'd have a frame pump up their ass in a hurry. At least you noticed before any damage was done. Glad you were unhurt.

Damn, now I'm pissed off. Some people . . .

Yeah I hear ya. Its because of stories like these that I won't patronize a busimess that won't let me bring my bike in when I am shopping.

Cheers,

Brian

Taking a man's brakes off his bike is like sleeping with his wife. Yeah, probably kids. I am more surprised they had a allen wrench with them to take of the brake pads!

That's the wierdest theft I've ever heard of.

Well, not quite the wierdest, perhaps...you see, about a week ago, I had to run an errand on my lunch break, and locked my bike up outside of the DMV. I was riding my vintage Schwinn, which is also my humorous bike, and I had an old-fashioned bulb horn on the handlebars. When I got back out from the DMV, I found that somebody had yanked the bulb off the horn and took it away.

Who the hell steals a black rubber bulb?

So now my horn is ruined, and I am kinda sad, because it was a gag gift from my dad years ago, and it made such a silly noise.

At least they took only your brakepads and left the rest of the bike. When I lived in San Francisco, I cabled/locked my rear wheel to a telephone/power pole......really ruins your day to find ONLY the rear wheel remaining upon your return. The "you weren't using it and It's all about me" mentality is really old/intolerable. https://www.biketiresdirect.com/produ...il.asp?p=KSHDC has the best prices that I have found for your replacement parts.
Good Luck.....
